Seed Trials and Research

Growing Opportunities participates in seed trials and other farm research activities that support organic farming and sustainable agriculture.

We have been the host site for the Canadian Organic Vegetable Improvement (CANOVI)  Seed Trials. The trials are an opportunity for farmers to grow and evaluate vegetable crops suitable for their climate and operation. The information gathered through these trials help farmers identify the best-performing varieties for Canadian growers, both for market garden production and seed production.

Growing Opportunities has also used our pesticide-free farm to host research projects related to bees and pollinators.
